Miss Antisocial

Funny thing today. Kamryn and I had an app't to sign her up for Headstart and when it was time to go the car wouldn't start (because of the cold). While we were sitting in the hallway by the heater waiting for Jen to come try to jump us off, Kami was sitting in my lap and several employees would walk by and talk to her and coo and all the annoying baby stuff, even though she's 4. But the next time we heard footsteps coming down the hall and they were about to round the corner all of a sudden Kamryn's body went limp and when I looked down her eyes were closed and there was literally no sign of life. The woman coming towards us looked at her and then started walking lighter and just smiled at her and then walked right past so as not to wake her up.
As soon as the woman's footsteps sounded farther away Kamryn perked her head right up and started talking like she never missed a beat. I asked her if she was tired and she said no and just kept talking and playing like normal. I didn't realize what had happened until we heard footsteps coming and again Kamryn's body went limp. This whole process repeated itself 2 more times. Kamryn obviously didn't like humoring the people who wanted to dote on her so she played possum to avoid the whole scene.
How convenient. I wonder how well it would go over if adults played the same game. You see someone you want to avoid in the grocery store and when they start to walk over just close your eyes and play dead. Would they just sniff around for a minute and then move along? Probably not. But it'd be nice.
